Neutrogena Face-Off Challenge!

This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with NEUTROGENA and Latina Bloggers Connect. However, the words and opinions are my own! 🙂

 Hey loves!
I took part in the #NeutrogenaRostroLimpio (clean face) Face-Off challenge!

First, here’s my little background story:
I used to leave my makeup on at night just out of pure laziness. Which is the WORST thing you could ever do to your face…i’ve learned now…lol.

I noticed I started getting blemishes ALL over my face, which increased my insecurities. But once I started using Neutrogena’s makeup remover cleansing towelettes to take off my makeup every night, they were gone! I also have sensitive and dry skin, and didn’t notice any irritation.

I use these makeup wipes every night, religiously and swear by them. Did you know these wipes take off 99.3% of all traces of dirt, oil, and makeup that usually clogs (ew…lol) your pores? That’s a rostro limpio. 🙂 You can get them at your local food/drug store. They retail for about $8.99 for 25 towelettes with Vanity Case (shown in the picture) or $6.49 for 25 refills. Either way, they are super affordable!

Here is the challenge:

1.Use the wipes to take off your makeup, (along with your typical daily cleanser).

My face before taking off my makeup. GET READY FOR A NAKEY FACE!!

2.THEN, use a white towel to dry your face.

3. Lastly, notice how WHITE the towel is because your face is super duper spotless after using the awesome Neutrogena makeup remover. 😀

*cue the Ooooos and Awwwws*

Don’t just stop there, make sure to check out all the other goodies Neutrogena has to offer!

What have we learned today, kids? Take care of your face and it’ll take care of you! (That sounded better in my head)

Love, Maya

Holiday Faves!

This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with Neutrogena and Latina Bloggers Connect
Hey guys! The holidays are here, which means family, food and holiday parties. (But mostly food…) and I LOVE to get dolled up for a party. When it comes to make-up, I’ve always been low maintenance. All I need is foundation, mascara, blush and eyeliner. I don’t like make up that clumps up, or clogs up my pores. If you’re the same, Neutrogena cosmetics are super duuuper simple. Here are some of my favorites for the holiday!

  • Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup(Natural Ivory 20) $13.99
  • Neutrogena Crease Proof Eye Shadow(Lasting Taupe)$7.99
  • Neutrogena Healthy Lengths Mascara  $8.99
  • Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Stick(Bright Berry)$8.99

I highly suggest the healthy liquid makeup if you want a light coverage. I love it because it doesn’t feel like I have any makeup on! Another biggie for me is eye shadow because I never know what looks good with my eyes, or even how to put it on.The Crease Proof Eyeshadow is just a stick of eyeshadow! All you do is rub it on your eyelid and BAM! You’ve got a subtle yet sessi (couldn’t say that word without giggling) look! If you wanted a heavier look, just reapply. Eyelashes are EVERYTHINGGGGGGGGGG. I seriously love Healthy Lengths mascara because it’s supposed to help your lashes grow longer, AND make them look bold (also bootiful). (It’s safe to wear if you have sensitive eyes, or wear contacts) Lastly, lips. If you’re going to a holiday party, you gotta rock either a bold red lip, or a cute flirty pink lip. MoistureSmooth Color Stick has a nice bright color, while still hydrating your lips. And you are gonna need that when that cute boy walks over to you with a mistletoe…*WINK WINK* hahahaha jk. That only happens in the movies.*ugly cries inside* At the end of your magical night, make sure to take off your makeup with some Makeup Removers!!

ANYWAY. These are my holiday favs because they make me feel pretty on the inside, and outside. Also because I know these products won’t ruin my face with harsh chemicals 😉

MayaInTheMoment’s NYC Favs!

Hey guys! I just got back from NYC, and it was probably the best trip I have ever been on. (Mind you that this is my sixth or seventh year traveling to the Big Apple.) With that, here are my top 5 fav things I did on this New York City trip.

1. NYC in Fall
Those leaves, crisp air, and pumpkin spice lattes(do u even pumpkin spice latte?! jk) I honestly LOVE FALL. Especially in NYC. Since I’m from Arizona,(where the sun’s kisses are like satan’s farts in your face.Wait, what?) it was nice wear a jacket and scarf for once. Also, look how pretty Central Park is!!!

BoiFromIpanema playing in the leaves.

2. Central Park’s Bubble Man (Yes, BUBBLES!)
There’s this magical man in Central Park, around Bethesda Fountain. He literally has a huge net that he dips in a bucket containing magical bubble juice. Then, he waves it around and all the lil’ children gather to pop them. These bubbles are gigantic, and they were MY bubbles. (Finding Nemo reference, anyone?)

BOSS.

3. Eataly’s EVERYTHING.
Oh.My.Gawt. This place is heaven. Eataly, according to the internets: “is a high-end Italian food market/mall chain which first opened in Turin, Italy, in January 2007. A New York City Eataly opened in August 2010.”
The food is heaven. The atmosphere is heaven. The coffee is heaven. Even though it’s expensive, it’ll definitely be worth your money. I just…unffff.

4. Museum of Natural History
Yeah, nuff’ said.

5. FRIENDS!
My favorite part of traveling is experiencing it with friends. BoiFromIpanema, Jeshua, is probably my favorite travel partner. (Also, possibly my favorite person, because well, he’s amazing) You gotta have a ride or die when you travel. Some who will drag out to get late night pizza because it’s tradition. (Thanks for that, btw!) It’s also good to have local friends who can show you around. Ever since Vine, I’ve befriended so many wonderful people. I was happy I got to meet some of them in NYC!

Clockwise:
1. First night of meeting Vine friends.
2. Second night meeting Vine friends.(Us in Action!)
3. My beautiful cousin Christina!
4. BoiFromIpanema, my favorite travel partner<3

Overall, I always have SO much fun whenever I go to New York. If you’re planning on a vacation, I recommend this wonderful place. Bring comfortable shoes though. (Btw, Thank you Justice, for letting me borrow your winter clothes and boots. <3) I <3 New York. Every time I come back, I always feel like the possibles are endless. I feel so inspired to kick up my career, and to some day reside in the big city. Until next time, New York!

REVIEW:The Bling Ring

About THE BLING RING (official synopsis):
“From Oscar award winning writer and director Sofia Coppola, THE BLING RING tells the story, based on actual events, of a group of teenagers obsessed with fashion and celebrity that burglarize celebrities’ homes in Los Angeles. Tracking their targets’ whereabouts online, they break-in and steal their designer clothes and possessions. Reflecting on the naiveté of youth and the mistakes we all make when young, amplified by today’s culture of celebrity and luxury brand obsession, we see through the members of the ‘Bling Ring’ temptations that almost any teenager would feel. What starts out as teenage fun spins out of control and leaves us with a sobering view of our culture today.

THE BLING RING stars Emma Watson alongside incredible new talent Israel Broussard, Katie Chang, Claire Julien, and Taissa Farmiga. The film also features Leslie Mann, Gavin Rossdale, and real-life Bling Ring victim, Paris Hilton and is based on the celebrated Vanity Fair article The Suspects Wore Louboutins by Nancy Jo Sales. Harper-Collins is publishing THE BLING RING: How A Gang of Fame-Obsessed Teens Ripped Off Hollywood and Shocked The World in Spring 2013.”

TRAILER

MY REVIEW:
“The Bling Ring” follows Marc (Israel Broussard), a noob to the LA scene; Rebecca (Katie Chang); Nicki (Emma Watson<3 ), Chloe (Claire Julien), and Sam (Taissa Farmiga) who are all best friends immersed in the high life. When Marc comes to town he immediately befriends the group. Marc and Rebecca become closer than the rest, he even states his love for her like she’s a sister through a voiceover. She introduces him to the world of stealing by simply opening car doors and grabbing whatever they can. (Cue typical partying/druggie scenes).

Next, houses such as Paris Hilton (which they get in because she leaves her keys under the mat. True story!), Orlando Bloom, Lindsay Lohan, and others. They eventually get the entire group to participate until they get caught. Not even kidding, this is the movie.

Although we were supposed to feel sorry for these teens, and their “temptations,” feeling anything was the problem with The Bling Ring. They made it very clear with the plethora of club scenes that these were teens who liked to party and be apart of the high society that is being a celeb. My problem was determining whether these scenes actually meant anything. (They also take selfies. LOTS OF SELFIES!! Talk about wasted film!) When they all went off to jail, I was like “Bai Felicia!” No emotion. I didn’t really care much for them.

The only bling ringer who showed any promise was Emma Watson’s character, Nicki. She was the most loveable character throughout! The whole thing was one big trip down the stairs, ending with a face plant. Ouch. Haha.

WHAT I’D CHANGE: A plot would have made this movie ten thousand times better. Also, sentimental connections between the characters and the audience. Maybe they could have shown their broken homes? A reason why they were jaded? At least something to make the audience like the characters. I think if a movie could make the audience love these shallow characters in some way, they could do a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g. I give this movie 2/5 stars.

BEST PART OF THE MOVIE:
The cinematography was off the chain. If anything, go see the movie because of that, and this.

That is all.

Katy Perry Lashes by Elure Review!

Hey everyone! This is first of many beauty reviews! I LOVE false eyelashes. I think they’re a great enhancement that’ll light up your face, and eyes. (OoLaLa!) I’ve seen Katy Perry Lashes  in Target for quite sometime now and have always been curious to try them.(They are also $6.99…) So, I built up the courage to try them and see what the hype was about. (What a tough decision…I know.) Ms. Perry’s has four different lashes:

I picked these!

The application was super easy, considering the glue came with a tiny wand, Rather than getting it all goopy on your fingers, or cotton swab. The directions provide wonderful tips and suggestions on how to perfectly apply and fit them. This was a SUPER easy process. Usually by the end of my application process, I’m so fed up with trying to reglue…I just rip them off. haha..serious. I DREAD putting these little suckers on. Until now! Thanks Katy Perry and Eylure, I didn’t want to rip these off. 😉 I give these lashes FOUR out of Five Heart Flutters!!

KIMBRA

Alright. So you guys all know Kimbra as “the girl in that one weird video with that weird guy with paint on their bodies and stuff singing about somebody they used to know” (as my little cousins have once stated) My mom and I found Kimbra while YouTube surfing for new music back in October 2011. This is the first video we saw. And we were hooked.
(Of course anything with bright colors, pink lipstick, and Pom Pom Fringe is sure to catch our attention….) Next we saw her collab with Gotye -not going to post the video ’cause i’m pretty sure you’ve seen it. Unless you’re from a different planet. In that case, HI! WELCOME TO MAYAINTHEMOMENT!Anyways…this girl is AMAZING. Her voice alone is crazy good.  This video will confirm.

She has such a control over her voice…and those techniques?! What also amazes me is the way she sings with passion. Which is something I strive for in my own performances.
Did I mention she was GORGEOUS? (girl crush? I think yes.)

Cray cray. I could go on… 🙂  Definitely check her out 🙂
