CRAFT: DIY Quinceañera Party Favors!

This is me wearing a quinceañera dress that I bought to wear to my senior prom.

Simplicity has a new line of quinceañera craft supplies that just debuted in select Michaels stores around the country and they sent me a huge box of goodies to play with!

There is everything you can think of for a shimmery DIY fiesta – lots of gems, trims, ribbons, stickers, bows, glittery accents, dolls, and more. The best part is that they come in a variety of colors: hot pink, teal, orange, lime, gold and white.

I’m going to be doing a few quince crafts here at MITM starting today with these fun party favors!

NOTE: This is a GREAT project to do with your girlfriends or cousins and family. Just put a bunch of the embellishments in the center of the table and let everyone have at it. Have everyone make their own versions, or if you insist – you can make one design and have them each replicate it.

This is what my art table looked like while I working on these! Messy and FUN!

1. Mini-frames
Supplies:
– mini picture frames
Assorted Simplicity Quinceañera embellishments
Aleene’s Original Tacky Glue (or you can use hot glue if you want)
– Assorted markers
– Chopstick

Color the base of the frame with a marker. Let dry.
Sort your Simplicity Quinceañera embellishments by color and shape, it will make it easier to design this way. Apply glue to a chopstick and apply to the back of the embellishment and set in place.
If you have friends who are also having their quince, you chicas can trade these with eachother.

2. Bejeweled Boxes!

Supplies:
  – Simplicity Quinceañera Favor Boxes
  – Simplicity Quinceañera Embellishments
  – Tulip 3D Paint, gold glitter or another color of your choice

Apply a thick layer of the gold dimensional paint to the top of the party favor box. Pick up the embellishments, one-by-one and set them in the wet paint. Leave until dry.

Look how neat and sparkly they come out! Now you can fill them with whatever you want and I guarantee everyone will want to keep the box!
Check back next Monday for another Maya in the Moment Simplicity Quinceañera project! Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Simplicity.
