Here is a bit of trivia about Lady and the Tramp. It went down in history as the studio’s first Cinemascope animated picture – and it was also the first time that Disney made an original full-length story that wasn’t based on a tried and true fairy tale. Thank goodness for that because where would we be without that classic spaghetti eating scene? Swoon….
If you don’t remember the plot – Lady is a pampered pooch who gets pushed to the sidelines when her owners bring a newborn into the house. After being set up by some conniving Siamese cats, Lady runs away and meets the streetwise, yet totally charming Tramp. He shows her a whole new side to canine life, steals her heart and the rest is history.

My favorite Disney movie has to be Beauty and the Beast.
My favorite disney movie is Alice in Wonderland ” If I had a world of my
own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing
would be what it is, because everything
would be what it isn’t. And contrariwise,
what it is, it wouldn’t be, and what it
wouldn’t be, it would. You see?”
I can’t wait to share all the Disney movies with my 14 month old.
My favorite Disney movie…hmm…difficult to choose. It is a toss up between The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh and Mary Poppins.
I have never actually seen Lady and the Tramp, but would very much like to see it as I might be the last person on the planet to not have seen it. Not sure how I missed it.

Thank you for sharing Maya. I LOVE this movie. It was the first VHS movie we owned WAY back when VCRs first became affordable for us poor people. My MIL bought it for me for my birthday on the condition I would let her watch it too. We still have it in the family. The case is worn and cracked from the many viewings by my (grown) children and oldest grandbaby. My favorite part is when the little Scotty tells Lady what a baby is, “…you won’t be permitted to play with it…”. I am such an animal nut, I cry when Shadow doesn’t appear with Chance and Sassy at the end of “Homeward Bound” (even though I know how the movie ends).
